The internet has changed real estate forever. Information that used to be accessible only by real estate agents is now at the fingertips of every home buying consumer. Agents used to be purveyors of information. Today, agents are merely providers of a service. Yet, over the course of the last 10 years, agent’s income has increased over 100%.
Agents have simply become a less important part of the real estate picture. So why are consumers paying what amounts to a 100% increase in fees to their agents? Well, until now all of the alternatives have come at a cost. Either a reduction in service, reduction in marketing or both. Our program is unique in that we’ve tapped into existing consumer behavior to provide all of the services that today’s homebuying/selling consumer wants and needs. At EZdigs we only charge 1% whether we are representing the buyer or a seller. Over the course of the last year and a half we have proven this model to be effective, time and time again. We believe this commission structure will become the industry standard in the future. This means that the total listing commission would drop from the current level of 6% to 2%. The 2% listing commission would then be split between the buyer’s agent and the listing agent. This new commission structure will save consumer’s thousands of dollars when they buy or sell real estate.
